D-A-D to Hold Charity Concert for Icelanders

Danish rock band D-A-D (formerly known as Disneyland After Dark) will play a charity rock concert for Icelanders living in Denmark, who are in need of financial support, at Reykjavík venue NASA on January 24.

For many years, D-A-D played the final concert at the Roskilde Festival and their music is familiar to many Icelanders, Fréttabladid reports.

The charity concert is organized by the “Because We Care” organization, comprised by a group of Danish artists who raise money to support Icelanders living in Denmark, primarily senior citizens and students, whose financial situation worsened quickly with the crisis.

Henrik Lövschall, a principal in Aarhus who represents the organization, said he had been surprised to discover how badly some Icelanders living in Denmark had suffered because of the crisis.

Lövschall said people are grateful for the help they receive from the organization and he encouraged the other Nordic countries to show their support for Iceland as well. “It is amazing how much these nations can accomplish when they work together.”
