Cyclist Dies in Traffic Accident

A man in his fifties has died from his injuries after being run over by a car around 6:30 this morning, Vísir reports. The man, who was riding a bicycle, was hit by a car close to the N1 gas station in Ártúnsbrekka, in the eastern part of Reykjavík. Eastbound lanes were closed to traffic for an hour and a half this morning.

Police ask witnesses to the accident to call 444-1000, send an email to [email protected], or to send a private Facebook message to the Greater Reykjavík Police Facebook page.
