Cycling Enthusiast to Film TV Series in Iceland

Australian cycling enthusiast Rob Lilley is planning to produce a television series showing cycling around the world, including in Iceland. On his webpage on indigo.com, Lilley says he would like to see cycling more prominently in visual media.

Lilley, who visited Iceland in 2010 and made the Viking Biking showreel, is seeking funds for editing and filming additional footage in Iceland to make a pilot episode for the television series. Editor Einar Snorri Einarsson, who worked on a recent Sigur Rós video, is assisting with the production of the project.

Lilley says he is passionate about biking for urban transport and hopes to show cycling in “different countries, landscapes, conflict zones, sports events and cultural events.”

“It’s just not complicated, there really aren’t many valid excuses not to ride your bike and public transport most of the time,” he adds.

In 2008, Lilley cycled from Hong Kong to Beijing to the 2008 Olympic Games.
