Would you like to cut down your own Christmas tree near Reykjavík? Now is your chance to take the family to Hólmsheiði hill near Heiðmörk, where you can select your own tree and cut it down. The Christmas forest will be open every weekend until Christmas, between the hours of 11 am and 4 pm. All proceeds from the sales of trees will support upkeep of the Heiðmörk area.
The Icelandic Yule Lads will visit the area and hot chocolate will be offered. Saws for cutting down trees are provided.
For instructions on how to get to the Christmas forest and other information, go to heidmork.is or the Elliðavatn Christmas Market’s Facebook page.
