Cultural happenings in one of Iceland’s remotest hotels

The band Hellvar (pictured) will hold an unplugged concert at Djúpavík Hotel in the Strandir district of the Westfjords on June 16. Throughout June and July the works of visual artist Helga Agnars Jónsdóttir will be on display.

Between August 17 and 19 “Djúpavík Days” will be celebrated at the hotel with stand-ups, organized walks, buffets and live music.

In addition to the textile exhibition “Leikur ad litum” (“Playing with colors”) by Helga Agnars Jónsdóttir (pictured), the goldsmith and designer Dýrfinna Torfadóttir will exhibit her jewelry throughout August and guests can observe the ten paintings donated to the hotel by the famous Icelandic artist Erró.
