Crime wave in capital area

By Iceland Review

An unusually high number of cases of breaking and entering have been reported to police in Iceland’s capital region this week.

On Wednesday night alone, four buildings were broken into, including a clothing store in the Reykjavík suburb of Kópavogur where several articles of clothing and a cash register were stolen. Fréttabladid reports.

Cash was also reportedly stolen from a home in the suburb of Gardabaer, and in Reykjavik, a laptop computer disappeared from a home and tools were taken from a storage room in an apartment complex.

In the same night, three cars in the capital area were broken into. Police has no suspects.
