This is not the first time that Stefán Máni receives the award—he was also the recipient of Blóðdropinn in 2007 for his thriller Skipið or ‘The Ship‘

Húsið will be Iceland’s contribution to the Glass Key Award 2014, the Nordic Literature award annually given to crime novels from one of the Nordic countries, ruv.is reports.

Auður Aðalsteinsdóttir, Inga Magnea Skúladóttir and Rósa Björk Gunnarsdóttir were on the selection committee for Blóðdropinn.
