Could Raise 80 Wind Turbines

Landsvirkjun, the National Power Company of Iceland, is exploring the possibility of erecting 80 wind turbines in a 34 square kilometer area in South Iceland.

The project could deliver up to 200 MW of energy, ruv.is reports.

Landsvirkjun erected two wind turbines in Búrfell for research purposes in December 2012.

The wind turbines are between 70 to 80 meters in height with the blades spanning 110 meters.
