Among the events that will take place during the upcoming Reykjavík International Film Festival (RIFF), September 22 to October 2, is the Couch Fest Films, a short film festival that will happen in strangers’ houses, set for September 24.
From the initiative’s website.
Under the motto: “Watching short films in strangers’ houses = awkwardly awesome”, ten houses in Reykjavík have been reserved for the event, along with 20 other houses abroad. The short films screened come from all around the world, a press release states.
Other events scheduled at this year’s RIFF include the annual swimming pool cinema, which will take place at Laugardalslaug. Swimmers will be able to watch The Neverending Story from 1984 in a special kind of atmosphere at the pool.
