Controversial Icelander Hafþor Júlíus Björnsson, also known as The Mountain, has won the 2018 Strongman Competition, Vísir reports.
Two Icelandic companies reconsidered their promotional contracts with Hafþór last year when several of his ex-girlfriends came forward with allegations of domestic abuse.
Thelma Björk Steimann, Hafþór’s ex-girlfriend, is also the mother of his child. In a long interview with Fréttablaðið, she described years of sexual violence she was subjected to by Hafþór. Hafþór has denied all the accusations.
