Consumer Agency Notified of Alleged Ginseng Fraud

The Consumers’ Association of Iceland has filed a complaint to the governmental Consumer Agency following reports that a certain brand of ginseng sold as “Red Korean Ginseng” is not working as indicated on the packaging.

The Consumers’ Association is requesting that the Consumer Agency bans the distributor of this product, whose name has not been revealed, from marketing or labeling it as red ginseng, because it has allegedly been produced using white ginseng, not red, ruv.is reports.

The association further requests the Consumer Agency speed up its investigation, because it is not acceptable that consumers are being lured into purchasing an alleged fake product.
