Condition of Icelander attacked in London improving

Haraldur Hannes Gudmundsson, who was attacked in London on 19 November and has been in intensive care since, is no longer in critical condition.

Gudmundsson has begun answering questions with gestures and seems to realize his situation. It is hoped that he can soon be moved from the intensive care unit, as Fréttabladid reports.

According to a friend, Hördur Helgi Helgason, Gudmundsson has not been able to express himself verbally yet, and it is unclear what kind of damage his body had suffered after the attack.

Four individuals have now been arrested in relation to the attack on Thursday and Friday last week. They were released on bail after questioning.
