Competition Authority to Investigate Fashion Retailers?

The Competition Authority may investigate the collaboration between the companies NTC and Hagar which operate fashion retailers like Debenhams and Sautján in Iceland and are thought to have a combined market share of 75 percent.

NTC recently opened a special division for many of the most popular fashion brands in Iceland at the Debenhams store in Smáralind shopping mall in Reykjavík suburb Kópavogur, which is owned by Hagar, Fréttabladid reports.

NTC’s owner Svava Johansen said her company had simply rented the facilities from Hagar. “I would find it very odd if the Competition Authority has anything to say about that.”
