Steingrímur J. Sigfússon, who led the Left Green party in the coalition government that was defeated in the election this spring served as Minister of Finance and later Minister of Industries and Innovation. He has told Vikudagur that sometimes it was quite difficult to be minister after the crash.

Steingrímur said: “I forgot to eat the whole days and for a while a special committee was formed to make sure that I would take some nourishment. We usually worked during all lunch hours and it was uncertain whether some food was being offered or not. This was not a healthy life as such.”
