Cold Week in Iceland Forecast, Down to -17°C

The Icelandic Met Office has forecast cold temperatures in Iceland this week. Temperatures may drop to -17°C / 1°F in the highlands on Wednesday. For the next 24 hours, the forecast look like this:

Northerly winds 5 to 10 m/s and snow showers in the northern part, fine in the south but becoming overcast on the southwest coast in the evening. Tomorrow north-westerly winds 8 to 15 m/s are predicted with the strongest wind forecast for Vestfirðir, the West Fjords. Snow showers are also forecast for across the country but it will be fine in some locations in the south. Temperatures of 1°C to10°C (33.8°F to 50°F) with the coldest temperatures predicted inland. Tomorrow temperatures will warm to above freezing point by the coast.
