Those in Iceland will experience mostly dry weather today, though isolated snow showers are expected in the north.
According to today’s weather forecasts from the Icelandic Meteorological Office, winds from the northeast will range between 3-10 m/s, with temperatures widely between 0 and -5°C.
Snowfall is set to begin in South Iceland later in the afternoon.
Tomorrow, Saturday, winds will slowly strengthen overtime, reaching 5-13 m/s and heralding from the east and northeast. Snow showers are forecast for many regions, including the South and North, though West Iceland will remain largely dry.
The southeast can expect particularly strong winds, with sleet or snow moving across the area. Fortunately, however, temperatures are set to rise slightly as the day progresses.
Travellers exploring Iceland by way of the Ring Road should be prepared for wintry conditions and are advised to take extra care when on the roads.
