Reykjavík was by far the biggest fishing harbor in Iceland in 2012 with the volume of cod and other demersal fish species, that exclude only herring and capelin, being well above the country’s other harbors, according to the Directorate of Fisheries.

Reykjavík is twice as big as the second biggest harbor, Grindavík on Reykjanes peninsula. Third on the list is Vestmannaeyjar (the Westman Islands).
