Cocaine and Hash Smugglers Busted

German authorities announced that they have arrested two Icelanders involved in a smuggling operation between Iceland and Germany. They are currently searching for the collaborators to the two fishermen who have already been arrested and sentenced.

Hamburg officials stated the smugglers were in possession of 3.5 kilos of hash and 3.5 kilos of cocaine. According to the officials, the price of the drugs in Iceland is six times the cost in Germany. The value of the cocaine in Iceland is estimated at 150 million ISK (about 2.4 million dollars).

The smugglers were sentenced to six months in prison. German officials evaluated the case as a “medium-sized” smuggling case.
