Close to 100 Kilos of Drugs Confiscated

Yesterday, police and custom control confiscated close to a hundred kilos of a white substance as the ferry Norræna reached harbor in Seyðisfjörður, RÚV reports.

This is believed to be one the largest drug confiscations in Iceland ever.

The drugs were discovered in an RV yesterday morning.

A Dutch couple, who drove the RV, is in police custody. They were transported to Reykjavík this morning for questioning. The white powder is packed in many bags, but has not yet been analyzed.

No further information is available.
