Cliff Richard in Iceland

British singer Cliff Richard arrived in Iceland yesterday. According to the singer, he has many fans in Iceland who will come watch him perform in Laugardalshöll music hall in Reykjavík tomorrow.

“He likes the country and the weather is great. I just hope it lasts,” concert organizer Gudbjartur Finnbjörnsson, who went to meet Richard at the international airport in Keflavík yesterday, told Fréttabladid.

Richard said he had known for a long time that Icelanders were interested in his music and that he looked forward to playing for his fans.

Sir Cliff Richard (born 1940) first became popular in the UK in the late 1950s with his back-up band The Shadows. He was given the honorary knighthood in 1995.
