The leader of the Debtors’ Coalition Gudmundur Andri Skúlason has heralded a class action against the banks. According to him, there was a will to reach an agreement with the crediting institutions but after the Supreme Court’s ruling, it is too late now. Ruv.is reports this.

The rights of the debtors have to be sought with full force, he states, and therefore the coalition will herald a class action in every case they come across.
Preparations are already underway.
Skúlason announced his intentions in interview at Rás 2, a radio station operated by the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service.
He doubts that the public will be better off with the new legislation proposed by the Minister of Economic Affairs.
