A Christmas village will open on Laugavegur 17-19 in central Reykjavík, where café Hljómalind used to stand, in early December. It will consist of 18 decorated timber cottages where people can sell their products.

Emphasis will be placed on Christmas ornaments, homemade products, design and handicraft, Morgunbladid reports.
In the center of the village a large tent will be erected, where various performances will take place. Musicians will play, poets and authors will read from their books and standup artists and children performers will entertain visitors.
The ogre couple Grýla and Leppalúdi and their 13 unruly sons, the Yule Lads, will also entertain visitors to the Christmas village with song and performances.
