Christmas Reindeer Warning in Southeast Iceland

The Icelandic Road Administration has issued a warning due to reindeer along Ring Road One in Mýrar between Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and Höfn, Southeast Iceland, dv.is reports.

Around 230 animals have been coming down from the highlands and have been grazing close to the road in Mýrar in recent days. Many reindeer have been seen close to road 85, connecting Ring Road One to Vopnafjörður and on road 939 connecting Djúpivogur in Southeast Iceland to Egilsstaðir in East Iceland.

The Icelandic Road Administration points out on their homepage that reindeer can be spotted from Þistilfjörður in the north all the way south to Jökulsárlón.
