Christmas Issue of What’s On Now Out

By Iceland Review

The 11th and this year’s final issue of the free guide What’s On in Reykjavík has arrived. The guide offers a wealth of information on the most important cultural and artistic events scheduled for Reykjavík and surrounding towns in December and January.

This issue has extensive coverage of the Christmas Village in Hafnarfjördur, which has become a local tradition as well as a major tourist attraction for the town.

The Christmas Village is open for visitors every weekend until Christmas Eve, where they can have a taste of traditional Icelandic Christmas delicacies, browse through the objects for sale on the market and meet the Icelandic Yule Lads.

Yoko Ono’s Imagine Peace Tower will also be covered in this issue. The column of light will shine until December 8, the day Ono’s husband, the Beatle John Lennon, was killed.
