Have you ever considered beer bottles as potential material for a Christmas tree? Magnús Magnússon, a beer enthusiast and online marketing specialist at the Icelandic advertising agency Íslenska, sought an alternative to the traditional Christmas tree, to which he was allergic. The solution he came up with was a Christmas beer tree, mbl.is reports.
“I drew this from some idea I had, and then I asked my dad, who is a blacksmith, to build the frame, and I bought Plexiglas from Logoflex, which they cut to size. I was single at the time and thought it was a great idea.”
Since then, Magnús has established a family, so the tree, not being family-friendly, had to be moved to the balcony, making room for an artificial tree in the living room.
“Our balcony is covered, so the location is perfect; the beer is cold, the balcony is nicely decorated, and there’s room for the main Christmas tree in the living room,” Magnús explained.
The beer tree is up already, awaiting the annual beer tasting party that Magnús hosts for his friends.
