The Reykjavík District Prosecutor has charged two men in connection with a fire at an auto body shop near downtown Reykjavík early in March. The men are brothers, but only one of them is charged with setting the building on fire.
That man has confessed to having set fire to a building at Grettisgata 87 on March 7. The fire caused substantial damage. Numerous paintings were destroyed, since the building also housed an artist’s studio.
The other brother was charged for failing to stop his brother and for failing to report the fire.
The case will be heard in the Reykjavík District Court today.
