If your Christmas package hasn’t arrived yet, don’t despair. There is still hope tomorrow, because in most parts of the country, packages will be delivered by Íslandspóstur, the national postal service of Iceland, until 2 pm tomorrow, Christmas Eve.
The postal service delivers more than 10,000 packages a day the last days before Christmas, in addition to all the letters, RÚV reports. Postal offices in the capital area and Akureyri will be open until 7 pm tonight and from 9 am till noon tomorrow. For a list of post offices and service hours, click here.
Brynjar Smári Reynisson, public relations officer for Íslandspóstur, remarked, “There is a large increase in the number of packages from abroad, but we also see a large increase nationally. In terms of packages from abroad, the increase in November is 55 percent compared to last year.”
