Central Party’s New Logo Unveiled

The recently formed political party, Miðflokkurinn (the Central Party), has unveiled its new logo for the upcoming Parliamentary elections in Iceland. The party was formed by former prime minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, who stepped down as PM after the release of the Panama Paper last years. Sigmundur unveiled the logo in a Facebook post yesterday evening. The new logo, which has caught voters’ attention, is a galloping white horse with the Aurora Borealis in the background.

The leader of the Central Party feels that the Icelandic horse is a good fit for a logo as it is one of Iceland’s symbols and that it has forged a strong connection between Icelanders and the world. According to a recent poll by the media company 365, the Central Party will secure 9% of the voters in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

The logo has received mixed reviews from Icelanders on social media.
