Lennon is currently in the Netherlands to scout for new recruits and is particularly interested in Aron, who plays for Dutch team Alkmaar Zaanstreek (AZ), and Alfreð, who plays for SC Heerenveen. While both are Icelandic citizens, Aron has dual nationality and plays for the United States national team whereas Alfreð plays for Iceland.
Jóhannsson scored two goals in AZ’s win over Heerenveen yesterday. The game ended 2-2 but AZ won on penalties.
Lennon recently signed fellow Icelander Hólmbert Friðjónsson, bbc.com reports.
