According to Fréttabladid, the cars were parked in different locations around the town and it is therefore not believed to be a coincidence that all of the cars were owned by Polish residents.

Police in Akranes have not noticed crimes directed at the town’s Polish community before and encourage those who have information about those who damaged the vehicles to contact them by calling (+354) 444-0111.

The local police were busy on Saturday night. In addition to the damages, a man was arrested at a dance after breaking a glass on the head of another man.

Three other individuals were arrested on suspicion of drug violations and police also stopped a drunk driver and immediately stripped him off his license.
