Car of Iceland’s Next PM Stopped for Speeding

On the way back to Reykjavík following this morning’s news conference, at which the new government agreement was formally presented, the next Prime Minister of Iceland, Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson, and his assistant, Jóhannes Þór Skúlason, who was driving, were stopped for speeding, Viðskiptablaðið reports.

Jóhannes Þór, got out of the car to speak with the police, while the country’s next Prime Minister chatted on his phone in the front seat.

According to, Jóhannes Þór was driving 106 km/h in a 70 km/hr zone.
