Canceled Fligths and Terrible Weather Ahead

The Icelandic Met Office has issued a warning: A strong or severe gale (more than 20-25 m/s) is expected in South and West Iceland tonight and tomorrow morning.

Both WOW Air and Icelandair have canceled or delayed the following flights according to mbl.is.

According to the WOW Air Facebook page the company has delayed two flights: WW403 to Paris and flight WW201 to London.

Icelandair candeled these flights from the U.S. and Canada on Sunday night:

FI602 from Toronto to Keflavík

FI644 from Washington to Keflavík

FI670 from Den­ver to Keflavík

FI630 from Boston to Keflavík

FI680 from Seattle to Keflavík

FI614 from New York to Keflavík

Canceled Icelandair flights to and from Europe tomorrow morning (Monday):

FI342 / FI343 to and from Helsinki

FI520 / FI521 to and from Frankfurt

FI318 / FI319 to and from Oslo

FI306 / FI307 to and from Stockholm

FI430 / FI431 to and from Glasgow

FI542 / FI543 to and from Paris

FI500 / FI501 to and from Amstedam

FI440 / FI441 to and from Manchester

FI204 / FI205 to and from Copenhagen

FI470 / FI471 to and from London Gatwick

FI450 / FI451 to and from London

Afternoon flights seem to be on schedule.

Southeast 13 to 20 tomorrow, but 18 to 25 at first in the southwest. Sleet or rain and temperature 0 to 5 deg. C, but light snow and decreasing frost in the north and east parts.

On Tuesday: Light southerly wind, but southeast 8 to 13 m/s in the easternmost part. Rain or sleet in the southeast, otherwise occasional snow showers and frost widely 0 to 5 deg. C. On Wednesday: Light variable wind and widely fair weather, but cloudy and occasional snow showers in the east part. Frost 0 to 12 deg. C, coldest inland. On Thursday: Southeast wind and light sleet or snow, but dry in the north and northeast parts. Temperature above freezing point by the south and west coast, elsewhere light frost. On Friday: Southwest wind and snow showers, but mostly dry in the east part. Cooling for a while. On Saturday: Increasing south wind with snow and later sleet or rain, mainly in the south and west parts. Rising temperatures. On Sunday: Southwest wind and snow showers, but fair in the northeastern part.
