Tourist guides have complained about the noise of helicopters flying over tourist spots for flight tours. According to the guides, the noise negatively impacts the experience of visitors on the ground, ruv.is reports.

As reported earlier this week, the number of helicopter flight tour bookings has increased by 60 percent in the first five months this year.

Popular sites include Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir geothermal area.

Helicopters are not permitted to fly under 500 feet in rural areas but no specific rules exist on flying over popular tourist spots.
