This is the first time that the company has passed the one million mark during the month of October, according to a statement on the company’s website.

If trends continue, Strætó expects that passengers will have made a total of 10 million trips by the end of this year and thus 2012 will be the biggest in the company’s history.

Strætó also announced this week that it will be increasing its prices. The price of one-day passes will increase from ISK 800 to ISK 900 and three-day passes from ISK 2,000 to ISK 2,200.

The price of one month cards will increase from ISK 7,000 to ISK 9,300 but single tickets will remain at ISK 350.
