The bus connecting the villages of Þingeyri and Flateyri with the town of Ísafjörður in the West Fjords blew off the road at Hviltarströnd near Flateyri, yesterday.

Páll Önundarsson, a truck driver who took the image, told Iceland Review that the driving conditions in the West Fjords have never been as bad as in the last two weeks. “And I have only been a commercial driver since 1972,” he said, adding: “It was a miracle that the bus did not blow all the way into Önundarfjörð.”
Luckily there were no passengers on the bus, only the driver who escaped with minor injuries.
