The weather forecast is good for most parts of the country next weekend, the three-day Verslunarmannahelgi (“Merchants’ Weekend” or “Labor Day Weekend”), which people celebrate by attending outdoor festivals in different locations in Iceland.
The Merchants’ Weekend is also the biggest travel weekend of the year in Iceland.
According to the Icelandic Meteorological Office, calm and bright weather can be expected from Saturday to Monday. The warmest temperatures are forecast for west Iceland, up to 22°C, and they are not expected to drop below 13°C anywhere in the country, Fréttabladid reports.
The Meteorological Office however warned that it is too early to give an accurate forecast for next weekend, so it is best to pay close attention to weather forecast for the remainder of the week because it become more accurate every day.
