Break-ins and vandalism have decreased in Iceland since 2010, according to the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police.

Break-ins numbered 2,500 in 2010, 1,800 in 2011 and 1,250 last year, ruv.is reports. Vandalism has decreased from 2,750 cases in 2010 to 1,950 in 2012.
Cases of assault have increased slightly to 1,100 cases in 2012 up from 1,080 in 2010.
