Brazilian Photographer Creates Iceland Project

Brazilian photographer Angela Sairaf has created a series of photos, titled now + here = nowhere, almost all of which she took in Iceland during trip to the country in March, 2015. Although the photos are in color, the subject is mainly black and white, with snow playing a prominent role.

Angelia was born in Porto Alegre and holds a PhD in techniques and processes in imaging from the Complutense University of Madrid, and a Master of Contemporary Photography degree (EFTI). She received training scholarships at the International University Menéndez Pelayo, where she studied visual poetry, creative processes of a reporter and the nature of photography.

Then she worked for over 15 years as a writer and photographer for Brazilian magazines. She frequently presents at conferences in schools of art and photography, such as EASDA, TAI, EFTI, APERTURA and MACA – Contemporary Art Museum of Alicante, Spain. Her work is part of the collection of MACRS – Contemporary Art Museum of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.​
