Book on Icelandic Music Mouse Travels the World

maximusmusicus-englishThe popular Icelandic children’s book Maximus Musicus Visits the Orchestra by Hallfrídur Ólafsdóttir and Thórarinn Már Baldursson, which features a curious mouse who learns how to appreciate classical music, has now been published in four countries.

The book recently hit the market in Germany and Australia but had earlier been published in the Faroe Islands and South Korea, a press release reveals.

In other book-related news, The Seagull’s Laughter by Kristín Marja Baldursdóttir has been republished in paperback under a new title in Norway, Jeg er Freyja. It originally appeared on the Norwegian market in 2006.

Moreover, Bragi Ólafsson’s novel The Ambassador (2006) has been published by Open Letter Books in the US. Another of the former Sugarcubes member’s books, The Pets, has also been released in English.
