Tickets for the additional Justin Bieber bonus concert, scheduled for September 8 in Kópavogur, went on sale this morning at 10 am. At 1:30 pm, only a small number of tickets were left. Total combined sales for the two concerts are expected to amount to over ISK 600 million (USD 4.6 million, EUR 4.2 million), Vísir reports.
Ísleifur Þórhallsson, director of music and events at Sena, the company involved in organizing the concerts, said the sale has gone very well and that all customers who tried to purchase a ticket could be served. He is convinced that the concert will sell out, likely by the end of the day. He is thrilled to have been able to meet the demand. “At last, people are able to purchase tickets without stress. We’re in seventh heaven.”
Assuming the concert sells out, a total of 40,000 tickets will be sold to the two concerts. Ísleifur remarked, “No concert organizer in Iceland could have dreamt that was possible. That’s 12 percent of the nation. It’s got to be a world record.”
