The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit was called to Bláfjöll mountains, where the capital’s ski resort lies, yesterday morning, where they recovered a 60-millimeter bomb from a grenade launcher.

According to RÚV, the bomb is thought to be from the Second World War.
The deactivated bomb still contained traces of explosives and was transported to a secure facility to be defused.
Every year, the EOD Unit receives between 50 and 60 calls. The EOD Unit urges anyone who finds explosives to immediately call 112.
