Residents of Neskaupsstaður, East Iceland have been told to boil their water due to elevated levels of bacteria, RÚV reports. A notice on the Fjarðarbyggð municipality website asks residents to boil water “at least for vulnerable individuals, young children and those who are ill.”
Neskaupsstaður reservoir was emptied last week as a result of a breakdown, making water shortage a possibility in the town.
