The body of a foreign tourist was found by Löngufjörur beach on Snæfellsnes, West Iceland, yesterday afternoon, RÚV reports.
The West Iceland Police found an abandoned rental car by Skógarnes on Snæfellsnes yesterday. After inquiring about the renter of the car, it was discovered that he had failed to show up for a flight he had booked yesterday. Rescue teams were notified and a search began shortly before dark.
The man’s body was discovered after a short search, or between 6 and 7 pm. There is no indication of foul play, according to the West Iceland Police.
