The body found by the shore in Keflavík on Friday morning has been identified as a 42-year old man of Polish background. Police have not released the deceased’s name but say the man was a resident of Reykjanesbær, Fréttablaðið reports.
The body was found on the rocky beach near the town’s old indoor swimming pool by a foreign tourist who was walking along the water.
Police believe the man’s death was the result of an accident and request information from anyone who may have been in the area on Thursday evening.
