Icelandic musician Bob Justman, a.k.a. Kristinn Gunnar Blöndal, released his first studio album on Monday, entitled Happiness and Woe. Justman is a former member of rock bands Botnledja (Silt) and Ensími. He is also known as DJ KGB.
Justman first began working on his album in London ten years ago, but didn’t begin recording his songs until two years ago. The album’s producer is Gunnar Tynes who has worked with bands such as Múm, Hjaltalín and Skakkamanage.
The album’s release was scheduled before Christmas last year, but due to technical difficulties, the release date had to be postponed.
Happiness and Woe includes 12 original songs of various styles, inspired by legends such as the Beatles and Bob Dylan, Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker.
The album’s latest single is “Don’t Move.” To listen to samples of Justman’s songs, visit his MySpace site.
