By Iceland Review

The fishing boat Lóa reported around 9 pm last night that the nearby boat Krummi had tipped over off Látrabjarg in the West Fjords and that the only man onboard had fallen into the ocean.

An ICE-SAR rescue vessel immediately set off from Patreksfjörður. Shortly afterwards the crew of Lóa reported that they had rescued the fisherman and that he was cold and exhausted but otherwise unharmed, reports.

Lóa set sail for Patreksfjörður and encountered the rescue vessel underway. The man was brought onboard the rescue vessel where he was cared for.

Krummi, a six-meter long boat, sank shortly afterwards.
