Björk Wins Grammy, Quits Biophilia Kickstarter Project

bjork-biophiliaIcelandic musician Björk was awarded at the 2013 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles last night for her album Biophilia in the Best Recording Package category.

Art directors Michael Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak accepted the Grammy on the artist’s behalf, reports.

Biophilia was nominated for two awards; the other nomination was for Best Alternative Album, which was won by Gotye (for the album Making Mirrors).

Björk has been up for Grammys 13 times in her career but never won the trophy until last night.

In other news, Björk has canceled her Kickstarter project, aimed at raising funds to adapt the Biophilia app for Android and Windows 8.

According to The Guardian, the project was canceled because only 4.1 percent of the funding goal had been reached after ten days.
