Ryan Murphy, the creator of American musical dramedy television series Glee, was keen on using Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk’s music on the show but she turned his offer down.

“She read the scene and didn’t think it was the right fit for her song,” he said. “I told her, ‘That’s completely cool,’ and she said to come back to her down the road. We deal with that every day,” Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter.
He mentioned the incident in a story on the public row between Murphy and the band members of Kings of Leon who also refused to have their songs played on the show, a row which also includes the Foo Fighters and Elton John.
According to visir.is, Glee is among the most popular television series in the US—ten to 13 million people watch each show on average.
