Icelandic singer-songwriter Björk announced her participation in the Roskilde Music Festival in Denmark in 2012 late last year. Björk released the critically-acclaimed album Biophilia in 2011, followed by a string of performances, including in Iceland.
The representatives of the Roskilde Festival said they are proud to have Björk in this year’s lineup, according to a press release.
Her last appearance at Roskilde was in 2007. In 2003 she closed the festival with a grand show where fireworks lit up the Orange stage in sync with her music.
Björk first performed at Roskilde with the Sugar Cubes in the 1980s and appeared there as a solo artist for the first time in 1996.
Other confirmed acts at the 2012 Roskilde Festival include Bon Iver and Bruce Springsteen.
