Björk Nominated for UK Music Video Awards

Icelandic artist Björk’s music video to her song ‘Mutual Core’ has been nominated to two UK Music Video Awards, for Best Visual Effects and Best Art Direction & Design. The awards ceremony will take place on October 28.

Björk’s video has garnered attention around the world, recently receiving the People’s Voice award at the Webby Awards, as stated in a press release from Sagafilm.

In the video there’s an interplay between graphics and reality, showing Björk buried in sand with volcanoes and rocks in the background.

Directed by Andrew Thomas Huang, the video was produced by Sagafilm for One Little Indian. It was shot in Sagafilm’s studio in Iceland, involving a crew of 30, most of whom are Icelandic.

The UK Music Video Awards have been presented annually since 2008.
